I work with glue that I color with ink and acrylic (sometimes add sand) which I pour on paper, canvas or burlap. No brushes are used and the paper is not directly touched. The glue is squeezed from a bottle held above the paper. As the medium is liquid, the work is free and fluid and is a strong vehicle of expression for the artist's energetic voice. The mark is immediate, incessant and direct as in calligraphy.  The rhythm is continuous, spontaneous and confident.  The images are sometimes wild, such as flying towels or they can be calm as in linear seascapes.  As glue is liquid and runs quickly, the subject matter of sea and towels on a line, (which move continuously), is a perfect union of subject matter and medium.  Making the work is physical, controlled and methodical. The glue dries in relief.  The images have a reference to reality, but are not realistic; the details are eliminated and the structural base remains. I prefer to invent rather than to imitate.
